Charlotte in the Air
Heavy rotation for me for the past three weeks has been the record by Charlotte Gainsbourg, daughter of Serge and Jane, actress, chanteuse, muse, poster girl. The title track is my favorite. This album strikes me as the record only a daughter of privilege can make, but that’s not a criticism. She can sing these songs without a trace of cynicism or apathy, and that’s saying something. It’s just gorgeous.
Charlotte Gainsbourg-5:55
I’ve been listening to Air’s Pocket Symphony on The Program this week, and it really is the perfect companion to Charlotte’s record. You should get them both, create a playlist and stick it on shuffle. You might not be able to tell which song goes where. And that’s a cool thing.
Nice article on Air’s latest work.
